Elite One: Cotonsport Makes No Mistake Against Renaissance

In their delayed match day one fixture, Cotonsport defeated Renaissance of Ngoumou 3-1 on Wednesday Nov. 9.

The Cotonnites picked up a second league victory after a win on match day 3 against Djiko FC, thanks to a Marou Souaibou converted penalty.

The first half was a close affair and though the 17-time Elite One champions, Cotonsport of Garoua – dominated proceedings, they couldn’t find the break.

The second half was much more different as the boys of Gabriel Haman picked up steam, and rolled with a brace from Ulreich Kokolo.

Kokolo cut open the deadlock one minute after the start of the second half. He doubled at the 83rd minute, before Moussa Liman made sure of Cotonsport’s 3 points at the 87th minute.

Renaissance grabbed one back from forward Annaba, but it only was a consolation for the team that has now suffered successive defeats against UMS and Cotonsport FC.
