Elite One: Goal Scorers and Match Day 1 Results
After Bamboutos Kick started the Elite One Championship a with a one – nil win against PWD of Bamenda, 10 other games followed in four different cities, with the exception of Cotonsport/Dragon and TKC Union.
Limbe Site
At the Limbe site, YAFOOT played the first of two games on the afternoon against UMS, with the latter winning by a single goal to nothing.
Winger Essomba assisted Manga Mba to a goal at the 76th minute, and Essomba was given a matching order late in the game (89) but UMS held on to win.
In game two of the Limbe site, Eding absolutely nailed newcomers Renaissance (3-0), as Ramses Domfak left his blueprint in the game.
The 2016/17 Cameroon champions opened scoring at the 17th minute through Hugo Fernandez Edjimbi.
Ramses Domfak dished out an assist for Eding’s second at the 41st minute, as Abdel Salam Mefira finished off a supreme action.
76 minutes into the second half, Ramses Domfak scored for himself a well deserved goal, as it went on to finish 3-0.
Center Site
Canon – Colombe
In the Center region (Yaounde), Canon Sportif sent four past Colombe in a resounding victory that sent a clear message to other competitors.
Canon’s goals were scored by; Stephane Nkoue, Ngon A TiaTi, Eyango Priso and Kingsley Chinedu to send the Canoniites home and dry (4-0).
Stade Renard vs Panthere
The second game at the Yaounde site pitted Stade Renard of Melong against Pathere Sportif. It took a goal from each half from Brice Simdjo to swipe all three points in favor of the men of coach Gabriel Zabo.
TKC vs Union / TKC did not show up.
Bafoussam site
New Stars vs OFTA
In group B at the Bafoussam site, newly promoted OFTA of Kribi separated on a parity 1-1 draw against New Stars of Douala.
New Stars took the numerical advantage after Raphael Odingi was sent off at the 28th minute, to score first, through Didier Ngandjoi.
OFTA however dug deep to equalise courtesy Leprat Manyo at the 49th minute.
Fovu vs Avion
Still at the Bafoussam site, Fovu defeated Avion 1-0. The goal for Cameroon’s Champions league reps this season came through erstwhile Djiko FC midfeilder, Stephane Ikpeme at the 27th minute.
Douala Site
AS Fortuna 1-1 Fauve Azure
AS Fortuna of Mfou who did great last term started their campaign with a stalemate against newly promoted Fauve Azure Elite.
Mathias Sevin Malep scored for Fauve Azure, while former Colombe and Dragon winger, Nkembe Enow was on the score sheet for AS Fortuna as it ended (1-1)
Astres FC 2-1 Racing
Astres leapfrogged Racing of Bafoussam 2-1 at the Bepanda Annexe stadium
Leon Boyomo broke a 7-months barren spell to finally score for Astres FC in their 2-1 Victory.
Nwetat Tchoukeu nearly stole the joy away from the Brazilians of bepanda, until Axel Ndzana scored late for the men of Mbarga Foe at the 88th minute.
Apejes 3-2 Djiko FC
Apejes got the better of Djiko FC (3-2) in agame that had it all! Bemol Apam scored a brace for Apejes Academy, and teammate, Christian Fack, got another.
Isaac Bakende and Eric Cantona scored at the other end for Djiko FC, but it wasn’t meant to be!
