Elite One: Kamta Scores 8th Of The Season As Le Astres Pip Dragon 4-3

Les Astres defeated Dragon FC 4-3 on the road with Julian Kamta getting yet another goal to his bourgeois cupboard of goals.

The game wasn’t that straight forward for the men of Tonye Tonye at the Olembe Annex A.

Dragon quickly went two up before the “Brazilians” knew it. Di Giovanni Mike scored from the spot at the 10th minute, and the home side doubled the lead 2 minutes after through David Merveilleux.

Les Astres started their comeback through in-form striker Julian Kamta from the spot at the 17th minute. Kamta has now scored 8 goals and he is tied neck-on-neck with Emmanuel Mahop of Canon on 8 goals.

Erstwhile Avion and Stade Renard forward Armand Kooh scored in added on time before the break (45+2) to send the two sides to the locker room on parity basses.

Upon return from the break, Dragon once more went in front courtesy Kolo Vivien’s 49th minute strike.

Changes were made for team Astres and the team responded with late goals from Landry Ntankeu (83rd) and Evans Bakandja (84th) minutes.

Defender Alexandre Benga was later sent off at the 90th minute but Les Astres preserved their lead and ended 4-3 winners.

Les Astres are 3rd in group B with 23 points from 15 games thus far. Up next for Les Astres is a game against Fovu in a fortnight.

Meanwhile, for Dragon, there is a mountain to climb. Dragon are rock bottom in pool B with just 9 points
