Elite One: Kpa-Kum Blow Away Cotonsport In Garoua

Canon of Yaounde struck fear in the hearts of other teams in the division after a comfortable lashing over 17-time Elite One winners, Cotonsport.

The first segment was relatively quiet for the men of coach Jean Baptiste Bisseck but they flew out of the blocks in the second segment, with a certain Emmanuel Mahop – writing his name in the history books.

Paul Henri Tchikeu opened the deadlock at the 47th minute, then completed his brace at the 67th minute.

Seemingly stunned after the first goal, Cotonsport went in search of an equalizer and opened gaps in behind, exploited by Emmanuel Mahop who scored the game’s second and his first at the 61st minute.

The ANAFOOT graduate just like Tchikeu, scored his second at the 88th minute for 4-0, and that was that.

It was Cotonsport’s first defeat of the season as they missed out on the chance to draw closer to group leaders Colombe. Cotonsport however has 2 games in hand, and they will be looking to put the defeat behind them.

Canon moves to second spot on 12 points, and the victory could do wonders to their confidence after the break.
