Elite One Launch: Club Presidents Plead For Extra Time

The Association of Elite Clubs of Cameroon have requested the postponement of matches of match day one except the opener pitting Astres against Union.

The start of the 2022-2023 Elite One season is scheduled for today Saturday, October 15 at the Reunification stadium between Les Astres Football Club and the Union of Douala, but there is a little twist.

After the inaugural game, the Association of Elite Clubs of Cameroon request the postponement of the matches scheduled for Sunday, October 16.

They mention in particular the difficulties related to the registration of players. “Given the inherent difficulties of player registration, we would like the MTN ELITE ONE Championship matches scheduled for October 16, 2022 to be rescheduled to Wednesday, October 19, 2022,” reads the association’s statement. Other demands have been made, including the new sponsorship agreement binding Tiof a d FECAFOOT, for the championship.
