Elite One: Mengue’s Stoppage Time Winner Depletes PWD

PWD of Bamenda suffered yet another defeat in group A of the MTN Elite One, after Victor Sother Mengue scored in borrowed time to secure UMS a victory in Bafoussam.

Mengue had lasted not more than 15 minutes on the Bamendzi stadium patch, before beating Sombang to gift UMS all three points.

PWD have a worrying record though early days in the championship. The Abakwa Boys lost 2-0 against Colombe on match day 2, before the latest defeat against UMS.

Meanwhile, UMS and coach Emmanuel Ndoumbe Bosso got off the mark with that victory, which was of dire importance to the 2-time Elite One champions.

Up next for PWD is Stade Renard in Douala – as the 2021 Cameroon cup winners look to change their fortunes, and UMS will log horns with Canon of yaounde on Wednesday, November 2.
