Elite One: PWD Put A Spanner In Renard’s Works

PWD of Bamenda has bridged the gap in group A of the MTN Elite One this campaign with a first victory over Stade Renard.

The Abakwa Boys picked up all three points against Stade Renard at the Japoma Annex B patch courtesy a slender 1-0 margin.

The game was hotly contested and perhaps deserved more goals, but marksman, Leonel Ateba’s strike was enough to win the game for the men of coach Nseme.

PWD’s goal came in the second segment (50) and there was a moment of controversy when teenage sensation – Bongaman’s goal was cancelled out for offside, of which replays clearly showed the winger was well on side.

PWD became the first team to heap defeat on coach Olivier Nankam’s Renard, and in that process, they picked up their first win in group A of the championship.
