Elite One & Two: Presidents Raise Red flags; Leagues In State Of Coma

Sportsglitz.net has learned from top sources that Cameroon’s premier and second division (Elite 1 & 2) is unlikely to start if the left over 360,000,000 million Francs subsidy promised them by the Government, through Minister Narcisse Mouell is not completed.

The aforementioned reason is indeed the front-runner for the somewhat renewed cold war between club presidents and the Ministry of Sports.

Reliable sources have further stated that; Presidents of Elite One and Two clubs are only willing to receive their balance. Anything less is as good as dead meat.

Flashback to June 28, when a meeting was held in Yaoundé and the first installment of monies promised to stakeholders ( 200 million FCFA) was handed over, with club presidents agreeing to resume the championships on the sole condition that after 4 playing days, the second part of this subsidy would be paid. After the 4th playing day, there seems to be no glimmer of money.

No official statement has been uttered by Professor Narcisse MOUELLE KOMBI, as regards the issue.

However, there has been no attempt from the Minister to complete the money to clubs for the continuation of the championship.

With all this back and forth, CAF has drawn a curtain on their calendar year with the conclusion of the CAF Champions League and Confederation. Al Ahly (Egypt) and WAC (Morocco) grabbed winners medals in the two competitions respectively.

CAF’s deadline for club representatives from countries was extended to August, but with a snail – like pace, FECAFOOT is in serious doubts to meet the deadline.
