Elite One: UMS relegated to an inferior league

UMS of Loum have been declared general forfeiture by the Homologation and Disciplinary commission of the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT).

The club from the Littoral region will therefore play in the regional league; equivalent to Cameroon’s third division next season.

Relegated to the second-tier at the end of the 2023/2024 season, UMS de Loum are set to leave the Elites. .

The verdict was delivered following the alleged inappropriate behavior of president Pierre Nkwemo on game day 11 of the play downs championship.

As a reminder, on the occasion of their final outing in the playoffs, the players of Ums of Loum had to abandon the game against Aigle Royal of the Menoua under the instructions of their president when the latter had just obtained a penalty in the 76th minute.

As a direct consequence, the club is declared general forfeiture as provided for in article 29 of the FECAFOOT disciplinary code in subsection B paragraph 2.

However, the club has 5 days to appeal the sanction.

UMS of Loum has made 11 years in the top-flight since ascending.

Thereafter, UMS dominated Cameroon football for 5 years winning the MTN Elite Two and One championships, blended with the Cameroon Cup in 2015.
