Elite One: UMS Win By The Odd Goal Against Renaissance

UMS Loum consolidated top spot in group A after a slender 1-0 victory on the road against Renaissance on match day 16 in group A, of the MTN Elite One championship.

In the late kick off at the Ngoa Ekelle stadium, there wasn’t much of a difference between Renaissance and UMS Loum, but the latter did what champions do, as they piped Renaissance through the odd goal.

The game was delicately poised until defender Wamba Aloise Patrice scored pass goalkeeper Vladimir Limaleba.

The 34th minute own goal was enough to hand UMS 3 points as the men of Ndoumbe Bosso consolidate top spot in group A.

Up next for UMS is a crucial game against Anicet Mbarga’s struggling Colombe of Dja in game day 17.

Meantime, the two-time Elite One champions have 27 points, 3 more than 2nd placed Canon who were held to a draw by Stade Renard.

Renaissance are rock bottom in group A with 12 points in group A.
