By Ngome Michael
Bamenda based second tire franchise, Bafmeng United will have to launch another climb up the classification pile after losing by forfeiture their Matchday-1 fixture against city rivals, Foncha Street.
The Homologation and Disciplinary Committee (HODC) of the Cameroon Football Federation also fined 500,000 FCFA and 3points deducted from BUFA on the general classification as penalty for missing her season’s opener.
As result, Foncha Street climbs up to 3rd place with 11points before hosting the derby on Tuesday, December 05 2033 at the Bambili stadium. Bafmeng United on the other hand, dropping beneath Unisport and YAFOOT to 7th place.
The 2023/24 Elite Two championship opened on October 28 2023 in Bambili with a local derby between Bafmeng United and Foncha Street that never took the pitch due license problems in the camp of host, Bafmeng United.
Martin Nkabyo’s side had just five eligible (licensed) players, three short of the required number to enable to encounter play.
Before this ruling from the Homologation and Disciplinary Committee, only Bafmeng United and Tonnerre pride of an unbeaten run throughout the first round in the Elite Two.
