Elite Two: Match Fixing Pops Ugly Face.

By Ngome Michael

The Transitional Council incharge of running Cameroon Football championships has released a statement detecting arranged matches on Matchdays 13 and 14 of its second tier.

The Transitional Council of Professional Football better known by its acronym, CTFP in a press release dated January 11 2022 noted with dismay that both fixtures involving Rennaisance of Ngoumou Vs Aigle de Mungo and Foncha Street Vs Racing Club were held under atmospheres far from meeting football ethics.

Group A bottom side, Rennaisance made headlines for an incredible comeback against group leaders Aigle of Mungo after trailing 4-0 at half-time. They had lost 5-1 to Bafmeng United on the previous matchday.

Defeat proved harmless for Aigle that maintained a 24point lead point lead before being overtaken by Tonnerre on Day-14 but, however has sufficient points capable of sealing a spot in the elite one asension playoffs while Rennaisance only managed to move ahead next opponents, Yafoot on goal difference.

The other encounter under CTFP scrutiny is the Matchday-14 clash between Foncha Street and Racing Club forgoing to cement a place in the top four and did so with a 4-2 victory.

An encounter punctuated by half-time mediation talks from match officials after a lackluster performance from both sides raised eyebrows.

Ibrahim Linyuy scored a consolatory brace for Foncha Street while Alexis Ntamack (24), Marius Duplex Fotie (26), Stephane Kamaha (32), Etienne Roger Zock (60) were ontarget for the “All Powerful” Racing Club.

It is on these premises that CTFP has opened an investigation to probe into the authenticity of both fixtures before both cases are forwarded to competent courts of the Cameroon Football Federation, FECAFOOT.
