EPL: Matip Scores Assist In Liverpool’s 2-0 Win Over Brighton

EPL player of the month of February – Joel Matip is now playing with an extra pep in his step, after receiving his award.

The latter was on it again for his side, as they defeated Brighton on the road (2-0) to keep chase of Manchester City in the title race.

Matip didn’t just aid his side to a clean sheet, but equally dished out an assist for Luis Diaz to open scoring at the 19th minute of play.

Diaz bravely chased on to a delightful pass from Matip, and his header found the bottom corner of Sanchez’ goal.

Salah scored from the spot to increase the Reds’ lead, and keep Liverpool within touch of City with 66 points, while the champions have 69 points.

The game was Joel Matip’s 22nd. He has scored a goal and dished out an assist in that time
