Europa League: Toko Helps Lyon Stay Top In Group A

Karl Toko Ekambi in red hot form scored two on the road on Thursday night as he helped his 10 – man Lyon defeat Sparta Prague (4-3), thus maintaining their top spot in group A.

Sparta’s own brace hero -Lukáš Haraslín was quick to get his team off the mark with two goals in quick succession (4, 19) minutes, before Lyon scored a quartet of theirs.

Toko Ekambi reduced scores at the 42nd minute before
Houssem Aouar leveled for the French side, 8 minutes after the break.

Lucas Paqueta pulled Peter Bosz’ men further clear before Toko Ekambi’s 88th minute strike came to settle matters after teammate Malo Gusto was made to walk at the 77th minute, reducing Lyon to 10 men.

Sparta had a last laugh at a frantic Generali Arena, though it wasn’t the most meaningful, with the game ending 4-3 in favour of the visitors.

Toko Ekambi now has scored five goals in 3 appearances; a record bettered by none in this year’s Euroupa league campaign.
