Evina Rescues Point For Sandhausen Against Kaiserslautern

Former cameroonian youth international Frank Evina saved his team SV Sandhausen for a second week in a row in the Bundesliga 2.

The erstwhile Bayern forward netted his team’s equaliser in the closing stages as Sandhausen left Kaiserslautern with point in the game that ended 2-all.

Kaiserslautern suffered a setback in the battle for promotion on Friday evening in the 24th round of the German second-tier.

The Red Devils did not get more than a 2-2 draw at home against strugglers Sandhausen.

The guests took the lead through Kutucu in the eighth minute. Kaiserslautern managed to equalise through Tomiak five minutes after the half hour mark (35′).

Upon return from the locker room, Kevin Kraus made the home fans cheer with a converted penalty at the 76th minute. However, the joy was short-lived: Franck Evina scored a deserved equaliser just four minutes later.

Kaiserslautern is now in fifth place, but seven points behind in third placed Heidnhiem. Evina’s Sandhausen are placed bottom but just 6 points separates them from 13th place Furth.
