Exclusive: Cameroon vs Guinea Bissau Friendly Chopped Off

Cameroon’s high profile, pre – AFCON friendly against Guinea Bissau has been called off, sportsglitz.net can confirm.

Guinea Bissau was scheduled to touchdown on Cameroonian soil on January 1, 2022, but for diversed reasons, they have pushed their date of arrival.

The Djurtus of Guinea Bissau prefer arriving from January 5.

The Indomitable Lions who have been in camp since December 27, will now have to look elsewhere for a friendly, before the tournament proper.

CAF regulations does not allow Cameroon to play a friendly from the Jan. 4. The Indomitable Lions cannot play a friendly later than the 3rd of January, as they open the tourney against Burkina Faso on January 9.

As confidence swells on home soil, there’s hope that the hosts will be able to ride the wave of optimism, rather than be weighed down by the gross expectation they will encounter.

5 – time AFCON winners Cameroon, are lodged alongside: Ethiopia, Cape Verde and Burkina Faso.

Ethiopia are already in yaounde and they won their friendly encounter (3-2) against Sudan – on December 30.
