Exclusive: Jacques Zoua Signs At Al Ahli

2017 AFCON winner and former Intermediate Lions captain Jaques Zoua has penned a deal with Libyan juggernauts Al Ahli Sports Club

The duration of the contract and amount has not been aired yet, but the player has been officially presented this Wednesday Oct. 13.

The club wrote on its official Facebook handle;

‘we thank Cameroonian striker Zoua Jacques for accepting to come to our club.’ (indirect translation from Arabic to English).

Al Ahli Sports Club in most recent times have tightened ties with affiliations from Cameroon.

Last year, the club invited Cameroon Elite One Champions PWD of Bamenda for friendlies in Libya, before the start of CAF inter – club competitions.

Cameroonian midfeilder Gabriel Appolinaire was equally with Al Ahli last season before his move to Al Oroobo in the UAE.

Former Cotonsport man Jacques Zoua has been unattached since leaving regional league outfit AS Futuro in his native Cameroon, mid – this year.

The latter is gradually becoming a journey man after having played for more than 9 clubs in his 13 year career filled with ups and downs.

Jacques Zoua played for the Cameroon men’s senior national team 26 times from 2011 to 2019 but did not manage a goal in Cameroon uniform.

The 1.89 meter tall forward will be looking to hit the ground running and perhaps impress Lions coach – Antonio Conceiçao, before the AFCON in January.

Al Ahli play the second preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup tomorrow against Tanzanian outfit Biashira United tomorrow October 15.

Al Ahli are 12 time Libyan champions and their best performance in the CAF Confederation cup came in 2016 when they made the group stage.
