Fai Collins’ Assist Propels Standard To Victory Over Antwerp

Full – back Fai Collins gifted an assist in Standard Liege’s victory away to Royal Antwerp on match day 18 of the Belgian Pro. League.

Standard Liege had the edge with a numerical advantage, due to the expulsion of Abdoulaye Seck, just on the first half whistle.

With 45 minute gone, the teams were inseparable with a dead rubber. Coming back after the 15 minute pose, the men of coach Luka Elsner – took the lead.

It was Cyprus International – Konstantinos Laifis, who drew first blood for Standard, at the 57th minute. Antwerp equalised 9 minutes after, courtesy Björn Engels, before Balikwisha gifted Antwerp the lead. Fai Collins then assisted for Carcela Gonzalez then pulled the game level.

The assist was Collins’ 1st in the league, and indeed, all competitions this season.

With the game thirsting for a winner, former TP Mazembe man, Jackson Muleka, won it late at the 89th minute for Standard Liege.

The victory lifts Standard Liege up to 10th place with 23 points amassed from 18 games.
