Fai Collins Decisive As Al Tai Bounce Back To Secure A Point Against Al-Shabab

Indomitable Lions full back, Fai Collins dished out an assist in his side’s 2-all draw against Al-Shabab on match day 25 of the Saudi Pro League.

The erstwhile Standard full-back was playing only his fourth game for his new side on Friday March 18, but his contribution to the team has been worthwhile in that stint.

With the game being stretched and Al-Tai trailing at home, it took the genius of Fai Collins to whip in a ball, headed in by Tobías Figueroa for 2-2.

Al Tai was led twice in the game, and twice, they came back to level. Away side Al Shabab opened scores at the 39th minute through Carlos Alberto, but his goal was matched by Dener Gomes’ effort at the 51st minute for one – all.

Carlos Alberto scored once more to complete his brace and gift Al-Shabab the lead, 9 minutes after the hour mark.

It was 78 minutes and Al Tai was running out of time, when Fai Collins drilled in a lovely ball, finished by Figueroa.

It is an important point against a tough side. Al Tai are 12th in the 16 – team championship with 27 points so far. It is a good time for Fai to get his confidence going, as Cameroon will face Algeria home and away in the WC qualifiers, few days from now.
