Fauve Azur raise alert on Victoria United’s “Plan to enter” playoffs
By Ngome Michael
Fauve Azur has raised red flag signals about an alleged scandal to pull the team out of elite one title playoffs places. This is through a released statement dating Tuesday March 05 2024.
The club lodge in Group B of the Cameroon top flight championship successfully accumulated 23points after Matchday-18, with a 1-0 win over Avion Academy to win the fourth and last qualifying spot in the group.
However in its correspondence, the franchise brings to media attention what it describes as maneuvers to deprived it of hard earned progress to title contendership to the benefit of Victoria United.
“We are surprised to learn from a good source that underground maneuvers materialized by the appeal lodged by VICORIA UNITED are being planned with the aim of:
Deduct one point from YOSA and award two points to VICTORIA UNITED…”, a part of the french document roughly translated reads.
According to Fauve Azur, these unconfirmed schemes could propel the Limbe based club into title playoffs position to its detriment which she terms unfair.
Victoria United for fact had protests against clubs like YOSA, UMS of Loum and Avion Academy but, it is unclear whether “Opopo” tabled any against President Norbert Naya’s team as the communiqué has the phrase “…reservations and appeal OUT OF DEADLINE…” mentioned repeatedly in different forms, quoting the text.
