FC Ebolowa register successive wins In Uniffac zonal CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers
In a dramatic clash at the Estadio de Malabo, FC Ebolowa delivered a stunning performance to defeat TP Elecsport 5-1 in the CAF women’s champions league zonal qualifiers, effectively ending the home side’s hopes for a spot in the upcoming tournament.
The match, played under a vibrant atmosphere on Saturday, began with a moment of brilliance for Elecsport. TP Elecsport’s Felicite Beral, a fan favourite, opened the scoring just a minute into the game with a clinical finish that sent the Chadian faithful into a frenzy.
However, the jubilation was short-lived. FC Ebolowa, a side known for their attacking prowess, responded almost immediately. The young, dynamic forward, Kameni Alice Flora, equalised in the 4th minute, setting the tone for what would become a masterclass in attacking football. Her pace and precision were a constant threat to the Elecsport defence.
The momentum shifted decisively in Ebolowa’s favour. The cameroonians dominated possession and created numerous chances. Their pressure paid off in the 35th minute when Ornella Beuleu found the back of the net, giving Ebolowa a 2-1 lead heading into the break. It was a second successive game that Ornella found the back of the net, after her opening goal against M’Sichana.
The second half saw Ebolowa tighten their grip on the game, with their defense remaining resolute and their midfield controlling the tempo. Kameni Alice Flora, in particular, was in unstoppable form. She extended her team’s lead with a beautiful strike in the 68th minute, completing her brace and effectively sealing the match.
Despite the insurmountable deficit, TP Elecsport fought on, but Bernadette Nga Mballa’s goal making it 5 at the 81st minute, marked the exclamation point.
The final whistle blew with the score standing at 5-1, a testament to FC Ebolowa’s dominant performance. The victory secures 6 points and top of the table after the other game ended 3-3 between M’Sichana and 15 de Agosto. It is FC Ebolowa’s to lose!
