Africa’s most decorated player, Samuel Eto’o, has recorded extra points in view of the upcoming FECAFOOT Elections, and equally set his goals.

Samuel Eto’o had finally announced his candidacy for the next elections at FECAFOOT on Tuesday, using his social networks. It had been in the pipeline for several months, but it now official.

After promising his Facebook subscribers a communication in which he will answer all their questions, the Cameroonian legend has confirmed the rumors.
He will indeed be a candidate and and has given the reasons which motivated him to make such a decision;

‘I am honored and happy to announce my candidacy for the Presidency of the Cameroon Football Federation. After careful consideration, I decided to take this initiative out of love for Cameroon and out of passion for our football. For me, it would be an honor to be at the service of the establishment which has awarded me all the distinctions that I have received so far.
I stand before you on this special occasion because time is running out. Waiting is not an option. It is time to rebuild our football. We can no longer delay the overhaul of our number one sport because the rest of the world is moving forward, it is moving forward without us.’ Eto’o opined.

Samuel Eto’o, like Didier Drogba, is embarking on the race for the top-job at FECAFOOT. The former FC Barcelona player has applied for the post of a delegate at the regional general assembly of the department of Sanaga-Maritime.

Eto’o has announced that he will not to take any salary relating to his function if he is elected.
