Former Belgian Coach – Marc Wilmots Takes Over Raja Casablanca

Having ended terms with Lassaâd Jarda Chebbi, Raja Casablanca have acquired the services of former red devils coach Marc Wilmots.

The Belgian technician succeeds Jarda, this Tuesday, November 9, 2021.
Marc Wilmots, has formerly worked as head coach of Belgium, Côte d’Ivoire and Iran, and he is now set to take the helm of Raja Casablanca.

Prior to this, he had coached only two clubs during his career: German club Schalke 04 and Belgian club K Sint-Truiden VV.

Wilmots reached the quarter-finals of the 2014 World Cup as well as the quarter-finals of the Euro 2016 European championship with Belgium.

The latter however had little success with the Elephants, as he had failed to qualify them for the 2018 World Cup, nor with Iran where he only spent 8 months before being heading to the exit.
Currently second in the Botola Pro league and five points behind Wydad Casablanca, Raja dismissed Jarda from his post after the draw in the derby (1-1) in the Casablanca derby.
