Friendlies: Cameroon To Face Dominant North American Opposition In June

Cameroon will cross path with their Mexican counterparts on June 10, five days before the ‘EL Tri’ play against the United States in the semifinals of the Nations League.

The Mexican National Team will face  Cameroon in San Diego, California, on June 10, as part of the preparation for the Final Four of the Concacaf Nations League.

The encounter will be a first between these teams since that of the group stage in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, and it is set to take place at the 35 thousand capacity Snapdragon Stadium.

It will be a perfect warm-up for the 5-time African champions ahead of a must win, AFCON 2023 qualifiers game against Burundi in September, after the Indomitable Lions fluffed two chances to directly qualify in a draw and defeat against Namibia in group C.

The last time Cameroon logged horns against a top opposition of this caliber was in the World Cup finals last year. The West Africans leapfrogged Brazil, the world’s number one ranked team courtesy a 1-0 scoreline.

Sportglitz understands that Rigobert Song’s side will play two friendlies with the other awaiting confirmation.
