From Douala to Casablanca: Itiga Yvette Finds a Home and Culinary Success at La Maison B

Twelve years ago, a young woman named Olga Itiga Yvette embarked on a challenging journey, leaving her hometown of Douala, Cameroon, with the earnest hope of reaching Spain by road.
Like many West Africans seeking a better life in Europe, her path was filled with uncertainty, but her journey took an unexpected and ultimately fulfilling turn when she reached Morocco.
Instead of continuing north, Yvette has settled in the vibrant city of Casablanca, where she has not only found a new home but has also achieved a long-held dream.
Today, she is the proud owner of a thriving establishment in Casablanca called La Maison B, an African restaurant that has quickly become a culinary hub, particularly for the local Cameroonian community.
La Maison B is a cultural haven where African flavors and fellowship intersect. For the Cameroonian diaspora in Casablanca, the restaurant serves as a vital link to home, providing authentic and beloved dishes that are often hard to find abroad.
Patrons flock to Yvette’s spot to enjoy a rich menu featuring celebrated Cameroonian specialties, including Ndole, the national dish; Okok, Eru, Pepper Soup, Puff Balls and Beans, among others. For Falone, the success of La Maison B is the realization of a lifelong ambition.
Speaking about her journey, Itiga stated: “Cooking is my passion and I always wished to own a place of my own. I will welcome all Africans and Cameroonians in particular to my place,” she ended.
Her passion is evident in every dish served and in the warm, welcoming atmosphere of the restaurant.
Yvette’s La Maison B is conveniently located opposite Mondial Police in Casablanca, invites all to come and savor the rich culinary heritage of Cameroon.
