Gaëlle Enganamouit Honored At The FIFA Awards

The award ceremony for the celebrated ‘FIFA The Vest’ was held on Monday with Former world star, Gaëlle Enganamouit as guest.

However, no Cameroonian ended up amongst the laureates. And certainly with good reason, despite coach Rigobert Song’s nomination in the category of ‘coach of the year’, and Andre Onana for ‘goalkeeper of the year’.

Former captain of the Indomitable Lioness, Gaëlle Enganamouit was a presenter at the ceremony. It is in particularly thanks to her talent that the selection of the Indomitable Lionesses enjoyed success between 2015 and 2016. She also won the title of best African player in 2015.

In her capacity as a FIFA legend on Monday, it was alongside former coach Fabio Capello that she took the stage. They presented the trophy for the best coach of the year to Argentina’s Lionel Scaloni.

It was in 2020 that the Enganamouit decided to hang her her boots. It had been exactly five years since she gave the world a phenomenal performance in her first World Cup match. Gaelle Enganamouit decided to call time on June 9 aged 28 years old.
