Georges Mffegue Announces Presence In GPL With Insufficient Brace

Erstwhile Avion of Nkam striker, Mfegue George was twice target for his new Ghanian employers despite defeat over the weekend.

The Porcupine Warriors of Kumasi suffered their first defeat this season in a fierce top of the table battle with King Faisal.

With a defeat and a draw in their last two outinngs, King Faisal pulled up an unbearable game for Mfegue and teamates.

Faisal faced Kotoko With plans of a upset that was realized as early as the 4th minute through Ibrahim Azubairu.

After a series of incursions at King’s goal, Asante had the opportunity to draw scores level when a penalty decision was overturned by referee Nunno Julian.

The 2020 Avion top scorer, Mfegue George launched a strike from range to beat the solid backline of King Faisal for the equalizer.

Ibrahim Zubairu took the contest to another level by restoring Faisal’s lead once again with 22 minutes left to spare.

A draw for the Asante Boys would have been enough giving the stiff context of December 5 match.

Mfegue was only able to grab consolation and drew his side’s second time but, Asante Kotoko had already fallen short as Zubairu clocked his hattrick at the death of time.

The Kumasi giants acquired the service of Mfegue in October following a brilliant season with Avoin that saw his numbers tallied to 26goals and 29 assists.
