GPL: George Mfegue & Mbella In A League Of Their Own

That fearsome front two of George Mfegue and Mbella Etouga were at it again on match day 20 of the Ghana premiership.

Kotoko smashed Bibiani Gold Stars 5-0 to get back to winning ways at the Baba Yara Sports Complex, slowly gaining the reputation of a ‘theatre of dreams’ this season.

The Cameroonian imports all scored, with Mfegue getting a brace, and Mbella adding another to his burgeoning numbers this season.

Even more interesting about these two is how they combine to make each other better. It took an assist from Mbella for Mfegue George to complete his brace in the first half.

The ‘Cameroonian connection’ as they’re referred to, have contributed to 25 of Kotoko’s league goals this campaign; 6 goals, 3 assists for Mfegue, and 14 goals, 2 assists for Mbella Etouga.

The pair engaged for a three year deal with the Kumasi based juggernauts at the start of the season, and they look like they’ve been playing in the GPL for a decade.

Asante Kotoko travels next Monday to play against Eleven Wonders at the Ohene Ameyaw Stadium, and as usual, headlines could be written and kept about Mbella and Etouga.
