Huge returns for Ashu Bessong and Omam-Biyik in the Lions’ den

Perhaps the most exciting of all appointments made in the ranks of the indomitable Lions is the return of coach Ashu Bessong, due to his successful stint waith Cameroon’s U20 in 2017.

More than a month after the end of Rigobert Song’s contract, the Indomitable Lions have ushered in a new technical staff.

The Government of Cameroon set its sights on Belgian technician, Marc Brys alongside a very competent team.

The former coach of Mouscron in Belgium will come along with co coaches, Joachim Mununca and Giannis Xilouris.

Making his U-turn in the den is François Omam Biyick, who was part of the dugout when Cameroon ended third in the 2021 AFCON on home soil.

An erstwhile Lion himself, Omam Biyick announced himself in the global stage in style at Italia 1990 with unerring skills on the pitch.

Coach Ashu Cyprian Bessong brings in massive experience as assistant coach number 2.

Coach Ashu is credited for the growth of dozens of indomitable Lions actively plying in top European clubs.

He leaves his coveted position as head of national youth teams in Djibouti to accept this new challenge, after helping South Sudan to a steady rise in youth football, still, as head of national youth teams.

Alioum Boukar has been appointed as goalkeeper trainer. Another return in the new staff is Manouvrier Christopher. The physical trainer was already part of the victorious 2017 expedition to Gabon.
