‘I Have Always Been A Swede’ – Elanga On Cameroon’s Interests

The latter is the son of EX Cameroonian international Joseph Elanga, and he will be in action for the Sweden senior set-up for the first time, after numerous call-ups in the Youth category.

Elanga had the choice of representing Cameroon, his country of origin, or even England, but went for Sweden, and justified his choice: “I was born in Sweden, and Sweden means a lot to me. Everyone knows that I could have represented Cameroon or England, but for me it has always been Sweden.

‘It is a dream to represent Sweden at this level.” Elanga ended.

Anthony Elanga’s national team mentor, the legendary Zlatan Ibrahimovic, had words of praises for the young youngster aswell: “Elanga is a great talent, we are proud and happy that he comes from Sweden. He has a good future ahead of him, and if he continues like this, it’d be positive. It’s just about fighting, never being satisfied, always wanting more. It’s up to him.” Ibra ended

The Sweden will face the Czech Republic in the play-offs semis for the 2022 World Cup. If they win on Thursday, they will face Poland on March 29 to compete for one of the very last tickets for Qatar.
