Indomitable Lions confirm friendlies against Senegal and Russia in October

In the upcoming Fifa window in October 2023, the indomitable Lions are preparing to play two friendlies against the Teranga Lions and Russia.

Cameroon pits the reigning, defending African champions (Senegal) in France, Lens. It’s an eagerly-awaited showdown that is penciled on October 16th for both teams before they head to Côte d’Ivoire in January 2024.

Before the two African giants clash, a friendly match between the football teams of Russia and Cameroon will take place in Moscow, as confirmed by the Secretary General of the Russian Football Union (RFU) Maxim Mitrofanov.

The meeting will take place on October 12 at the home stadium of the capital’s Dynamo – VTB Arena.

These games are geared towards helping the Indomitable Lions prepare for the AFCON 2023 in Cote D’Ivoire.

The International Football Federation (FIFA) and the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) published a joint statement in February 2022, according to which Russian national teams and clubs are suspended from participation in international competitions for an indefinite period due to the events in Ukraine.

In total, after the sanctions began, the Russian team played eight friendly matches.
