Indomitable Lions Newbie Elliot On Target, As Chelsea Defeats Liverpool

Recently called up for the first time by indomitable Lions coach Rigobert Song, midfeilder Ben Elliott marked the feat with a goal against Liverpool U21s.

Datro Fofana, Mason Burstow and Ben Elliott were the scorers as Chelsea combined good defending with decisive attacking play to secure a win over the reds on Saturday.

On his first appearance for the U21s Fofana started and finished the move which levelled the scores, combining well with Burstow, Harvey Vale and Elliott to beat the keeper at his near post.

Burstow then scored on the stroke of half-time as he finished well from a fast counter-attack. The striker was denied a brace as his excellent finish from a Vale cross that was ruled out for offside.

Elliott wrapped up the win deep into second-half stoppage time as he lashed a left-footed effort into the goal.

Much is expected of Elliott when the indomitable Lions take on Namibia in a double header later this month.
