Indomitable Lions “newbie” Patrick Soko, on target for Huesca

Double good news for Patrick Soko. After his pre-selection in Marc Brys’ extended list for the 3rd day of the AFCON 2025 qualifiers, the indomitable Lions newbie opened his goal counter.

Huesca hosted Cadiz on Friday for the first game of day 8 matches in Liga 2.

Oscar Sielva opened scoring in first half added on time (45 + 3 ‘). In the 48th minute of play, Patrick Soko extended the lead. Through a perfectly weighted pass, he lost the defender before doubling the score (2-0). Goalkeeper Dani Jiménez could do nothing.

Jorge Pulido made sure of all three points (3-0) in the 80th minute of play to the great delight of the supporters.

Manhandled in the game, Cadiz reduced the score in the 86th minute of play thanks to Ruben Sobrino (3-1). A goal without consequences because Huesca recorded its 5th victory of the season.

Patrick Soko and his team are provisionally leaders of Liga 2 with 15 points.

In 68 minutes he touched 20 balls for 64% of accurate passes.

Patrick Soko seized the context of his pre-selection to find the back of the net after 7 matches. Will Marc Brys trust him? That’s a rhetoric only to be answered this Saturday at the end of the press conference.
