Indomitable Lions touch down on Garoua soil ahead of AFCON qualifiers decider

Team Cameroon have safely landed at the Garoua international airport ahead of a gargantuan last AFCON qualifiers fixture, on September 12 against Burundi.

A slight tweak in flight programme, but the indomitable Lions of Cameroon arrived Garoua at 18:30 CAT, having initially planned a 5:00 pm arrival.

All 24 players including Nicolas Brice Moumi Ngamaleu, who landed today in Yaounde, safely reached the North part of the country.

Earlier this Wednesday September 6, the 5-time AFCON champions trained at the Ngoa Ekelle stadium. The session was open to fans, and it was the team’s second practice after Tuesday’s session at the Mundi Multi-purpose sports complex in yaounde.

Both injured, Olivier Ntcham and Olivier Kemen, made the travel alongside other teammates, but moved gingerly as observed by the sportglitz crew.

The indomitable Lions are lodged at Hotel Ribadou. Rigobert Song’s lads will train behind closed doors on Thursday, September 7, before another session open to the public on Friday.

On September 12, a victory against Burundi will mean qualification as group C toppers for Cameroon.

A zero-all tie will see Cameroon qualify in 2nd position (due to the away goals).

A parity with a one-all minimum eliminates Cameroon. A defeat is of course, synonymous to elimination.

The game will be played at the Roumde Adjia stadium at 20:00 CAT. It is the first game in Garoua for the Indomitable Lions since October 9, 2010.
