Inter vs Porto: Onana Beats Namaso To ULC Quarter-final Slot

Andre Onana’s Inter Milan beat Daniel Namaso’s FC Porto 1-0 on aggregate to book a place in the quarterfinals of the 2022/23 UEFA Champions League.

The second leg played on Tuesday at Estadio do Dragao in Porto, Portugal, ended in a goalless draw. Despite controlling the match and having more shots, the Portuguese squad did not manage to overcome the 1-0 defeat in the first clash in Milan.

Andre played throughout the 90 minutes and was imperial, making some key stops that had him in the man of the match debate. His compatriot, Daniel Namaso made his way into the game as a substitute at the 85th minute. The 22-year-old was a handful, though with little game time as he managed a shot within that period, and troubled the Inter backline.

Namaso was shortlisted by Rigobert Song in his initial 34-man team set to play a double header against Namibia in the 2023 AFCON qualifiers, but later dropped when the list was trimmed. Onana, meanwhile, called time on his international career after the 2022 Qatar world cup.
