Intercontinental playoffs: Lionesses Leave Yaounde For Auckland

The indomitable Lionesses left Yaounde on Monday for Auckland, New Zealand, where they will participate in the 10-team Intercontinental play-offs.

The team have been in camp for close to two weeks with intense preparations at the CAF technical center in Mbankomo, before a list of 23 was aired over the weekend.

The delegation that left Cameroon was made up of 7 players: Bawou Ange, Ongmahan Marthe, Biya Cathy, Omboudou Brigitte, Mbengono Catherine, Eliane Bibout, Tabi Brenda, and part of the backroom staff headed head coach Gabriel Zabo.

Gabriel Zabo’s ladies will take part in a camp meant for acclimatization, before wrapping up with some friendlies.

The rest of the group that sums up to 17 players will join the rest of the team in Europe.

In the play-offs, Cameroon will face Thailand then Portugal to win a qualification ticket for the 2023 Women’s World Cup.
