Intermediate Lions Samuel Nlend & Desire Nzogue Switch Allegiance To CAR
Former Intermediate Lions captain Nlend Samuel and goalkeeper Desire Nzogue have both figured in the Central African Republic’s list to face Sudan in a warm up friendly, prior to the AFCON 2023 qualifiers.
The news was first aired on Sports Time 237 in the early hours of Thursday, March 17.
Nlend Samuel played the African Nations Championship for Cameroon in 2016 under coach Martin Ndtoungou and he was exceptional as the intermediate Lions made the quarter finals.
The later who now plays for AS Futuro has however never had a foothold in the Cameroon senior men’s selection, and thus, decided to look the way of CAR. His technical abilities and goal scoring prioress is well known in Cameroon, especially at Union where he is undoubtedly a cult hero.
EX Astres skipper Desire Nzogue equally is on the Central African Republic’s list to face Sudan in a friendly. The latter who now plays for New Stars of Douala is an fine goalie, and prolly second to none in the local championship, when it comes to his ball distribution.
Nzogue has equally been on the corridors of the Intermediate Lions for a while, but he hasn’t been looked at by the national selection.
Nzogue, 26, together with his compatriot, are tasked to help CAR sail through to their first ever Africa Cup of Nations next year in Cote D’Ivoire.
Coach Raoul Savoy and will have the chance to further see how good these two are when his team log horns against Tanzania and Sudan on the 20th and 27th of March, in friendlies.
