‘It is a dream’ – Hilal’s Mohamed Abdelrahman on CAF champions league Tourney

Sudanese cum Al Hilal striker, Mohamed Abdelrahman told press experts at the pre-match press conference in the build up to the Cotonsport game that, to win the TotalEnergies CAF champions league will be a dream.

The 29 year old who has participated in the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of nations, CHAN and now the CAF champions league in a little under a year with Sudan and Hilal, uttered that Hilal’s main goal is adding a champions league star on its kit.

‘The CAF champions league is a dream for Al Hilal. Cotonsport lost their first game but it doesn’t mean they are not good. We are going to do our best to win our the game tomorrow,’ ended the 29-year old.

On a personal note, Abdelrahman is yet to score in the competition after two games played, which is uncharacteristic of him, but the poacher insists on the growth of African football which has adversely affected his goals return.

‘African football has improved and it is a good thing. We need to work harder to improve it.’

Al Hilal have won one and lost one in the competition thus far but a win against Cotonsport will inadvertently affect the classification table and gift the Sudanese a strong position.

The 29-time Sudanese league winners were runners-up in the competition in 1987 and 1992.

Hilal pits Cotonsport at 1700 GMT at the 25,000 seater capacity Roumde Adjia stadium on Friday, in match day 3 of group B of the CAF champions league.
