‘It is Inhumane,’ Conceiçao Blast Cameroon’s Organization Despite Win Against Mozambique

The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon are back in the country after a marathon 24 hours that included them – traveling to and fro, plus their game against Mozambique, in group D of the Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

The Lions had to travel on Sunday night to play at 2 pm on Monday, due to a run of unforseen circumstances that had to do with their flight.

59 year old Portuguese coach Antonio Conceiçao was quite vocal after his team that just managed to defeat Mozambique one – nil in Tanger.

Speaking during post match, the former Cluj thinker – man had the following to say;

‘I have mixed feelings. First of all I am happy for our victory, then I am sad because we didn’t have enough time to recuperate.

‘We arrived the hotel at 5 am to play a game at 2 pm. It is inhumane to put these professionals through this in a competition like the world cup qualifiers.’ Conceiçao ended.

Cameroon’s flight was postponed thrice on Saturday before finally moved to Sunday. As per reports, the crew that had to fly the Lions to Tanger had a Covid19 case. The reserve team was in Guinea and so Camairco put up two mini – aircrafts that ware denied by the players.

The victory for Cameroon was vital as it took them momentarily top of group D whist awaiting the Cote D’Ivoire against Malawi game.

Cote D’Ivoire eventually defeated Malawi 2-1, and so, regained top spot with 10 points, one above Cameroon. it seems to be going right down to the wire in group D.
