‘It Is Scandalous’ – Betrand Traore On Alleged Covid19 Twist Prior To AFCON Opener

Hours before Burkina Faso takes on Cameroon in the AFCON 2021 opener, coach Kamou Malo and Bertrand Traore, brought to the fore questions of alleged Covid19 manipulations.

The two were speaking at their pre – match presser at the Olembe site.

Names of those players tested positive, have however been made anonymous, despite attempts to get the list, from the team.

Quizzed by a Burkinabe media outlet on echoes heard from the camp of the Stallions as regards Covid19 tests, and its intrigues, Betrand was quick to point out what he thinks.

‘We were waiting for the health service yesterday morning, but they only turned up at night,’ Traore started.

‘We were then told that some players were positive late at night. It is scandalous.

‘We cannot be told that we have Covid19 cases like that. It was totally avoidable. They will have done it earlier,’ the Aston Villa winger said.

The vexing part of the aforementioned, as per Burkinabay staff and their skipper, is the fact that their four players tested positive, are of utmost importance, and perhaps indispensable – to the 2013 AFCON – beaten finalists.

Traore ended by calling on the authorities to double – check their Covid19 test results.

26-year-old Betrand Traore equally confessed having received two sets of medical personnels. With one, certainly not being a CAF affiliate.

‘the authorities and officials need to rethink how things should be done.

‘Health groups should be CAF recognized so it should be transparent,’ Betrand ended.

For team Cameroon, going all the way in 2017, they went into the most recent edition as huge favorites but went on to suffer a last-16 exit at the hands of Nigeria.

Kickoff is set for 5 pm local time on January 9.
