Jean Onana Scores Assist In Bordeaux’s Draw Against Lorient

From the sick bed, Jean Onana came back and was directly involved, assisting in his side’s one – all draw against Lorient on match day 11 of the French Ligue 1, before getting sent off at the 86th minute.

The man who was voted Bordeaux’s September player of the month was vital in grasping a point for his side away at Lorient.

Bordeaux took the lead a minute after the break, with Jean Onana laying down on a platter for Honduran – Alberth Elis to finish.

Lorient however fought their way back with an equaliser via Julien Laporte at the 76th minute to level matters.

Onana received a matching order at the 86th minute, thus reducing his side to 10 men. Lorient couldn’t capitalize on the numerical advantage as the game ended in a dead rubber.

The draw keeps Bordeaux at the 17th position with 9 points on the log, but only 6 points separates them from 11th placed Lorient who are on 15 points.

Where will they be without Onana? Despite his expulsion on Sunday, the 21 year old has directly been involved in 3 goals out of the five games he has played for Bordeaux this season.
