Jonathan Ngwem Assist In Gouna’s Draw Against National Bank
Indomitable Lions left back Jonathan Ngwem squared for teammate Omar El Saeed who tapped in at the 47 minute, as El Gouna was held at home by National Bank to a one – all tie.
El Gouna let their lead slip at the 71st minute, Karim Bambo pulling the game to a parity tie for the visitors.
Ngwem played through 90 minutes and his engaging approach at the back got him a booking on the whistle (90 minute).
The draw means El Gouna consolidate their mid – table spot (9th) with 37 points out of 27 games played. There is still a chance for Jonathan Ngwem and co to finish in a dominant position, as 4th placed Pyramids are just 6 points ahead, with seven more games to be played.
Ngwem’s assist was the second of 2017 AFCON winner, and now takes his numbers to a goal and two assists for this season.
Having made his international debut back in 2015, 30 year old Ngwem has won the heart of current Lions coach Antonio Conceicao, who has listed him in camps for sometime now.
Ngwem played 90 minutes in Cameroon’s AFCON qualifiers against Rwanda in March. He was subsequently selected for Cameroon’s double header against Nigeria in June, though he didn’t get the game time.
