Jonathan Ngwem’s Assist Not Enough As Al Mokawloon Defeat Gouna

Jonathan Ngwem’s great personal season continued in the Egyptian league on Thursday despite his team’s defeat away to Al Mokawloon.

Ngwem, now 30 years of age, served a golden through ball to Egyptian international Omar El Said at the 72nd minute of the game, but the away team fell to a late goal with just 10 minutes to go, as it ended 2-1 in favour of Al Mokawloon.

It is the second successive assist in quick succession for the left – back in El Gouna colours after his last against the National Bank on match day 29 of the Championship.

That assist on match day 30 takes Ngwem’s total to 8 in all competitions since the start of the season.

The former Unisport of Bafang player and 2017 AFCON winner remains the most productive of all left back’s in the Lions den this season, and remains an option in the games against Malawi and Cote D’Ivoire, while the final list is still up for grabs.
