Joseph Bah Yanki Joins Latvian Side BFC Daugavpils

Joseph Bah Yanki, 28, has penned a one year deal renewable with Latvian side BFC Daugavpils.

Sportsglitz.net is made to understand that the deal was brokered by South West United FA President, Ngoh Nkelle, who is a partner and affiliate to the club.

The versatile player who is comfortable on the wings and an attacking midfeild role spent his glory days at Njalla Quan Sports Academy and eventually made it to Cotonsport in 2014/15.

The player then left Cameroon juggernauts Cotonsport to Batola Pro. Inwi side MAS Fes where he participated in the 2016/17 campaign.

The move to Daugavpils, however, remains Yanki’s first experience in the old continent of Europe, after leaving Kano Pillars in the Nigerian Super League.

BFC Daugavpils ended 6th in last season’s campaign. They play in the Latvian Higher League since 2013 when they won the second-tier championship.

The Latvian league restarts on Sunday March 13 with Daugavpils set to face Tukums at the Stadions Celtnieks arena. His Compatriot Wamba Leonel won the golden boot in the championship last season with Spartaks Jurmala with 14 goals.
