Junior Kaaba completes switch to Malta
Junior Kaaba will ply in what is set to be his season of upheaval in the Maltese Challenge League with tier-2 side St. Andrews, for a period of 2 seasons, sportglitz.com can confirm.
The 24-old-old has been acquired alongside Bryan Samuel Nyetam, another Cameroonian who played for Accra Five Star last term.
Kaaba scored 3 goals upon his return to Fauve Azur Elite from the Ghana premiership where his contract was mutually terminated due to the latter’s inability to settle.
GPL giants Hearts of Oak cut ties with Kaaba after only four months. The erstwhile Colombe poacher joined Hearts in August last year on a three-year deal after an impressive display in the Elite One championship which saw him rise to double figures (11 goals).
Unable to live up to the hype, the forward had his stay cut short. However, Malta provides a new spring board in Kaaba’s career.
St. Andrews kept its second-tier status after a relegation play-off scare last term, and with the coming of new players, the club will be looking to punch amongst the heavyweights next year, in the first division.
