Following this impressive win, Cameroon now leads Group B with 3 points. The Central African Republic also stands at 3 points after completing their second and final first-round match, while Gabon, who did not play on Thursday, finds themselves at the bottom after their defeat against the RCA (1-2).
A day of rest is scheduled for tomorrow, with the third and final day of the tournament set for September 28.
Cameroon’s upcoming challenge will be against Gabon. The Central African Republic is now hoping for a Gabonese loss or draw to boost their chances of reaching the semi-finals.
The champions of this tournament, structured with matches in two groups, will earn the right to represent the Central African sub-region in the final stage of the CAN 2025. The host nation for the prestigious event is still to be determined.
