Just In: Andre Onana Starts For Cameroon Against Malawi After Return From Doping Ban

As per Cameroon’s starters list first circulated by Journal du Cameroon, Antonio Conceiçao has listed – goalkeeper Andre Onana between the sticks in the Lions’ game against Malawi, in the 5th game of the Qatar 2022 qualifiers this afternoon.

Playing before Onana are ;

Nohou Toulo, Olivier Mbaizo, Jean Claude Bilong and Michael Ngadeu

The midfeild trio is made up of: Oum Gouet, Martin Hongla and Zambo Anguissa.

The attacking line is speared by Vincent Aboubakar, assisted on the two flanks by Toko Ekambi and Moumi Ngamaleu, in a 4-3-3 classic formation.

Goalkeeper Andre Onana’s suspension for doping only ended on November 4.

The 25 – year – old Nkol Ngok native lastly played for the Indomitable Lions on November 16 2020, as the Lions defeated Mozambique 2-0.

Epassy Davis then took over the goalkeeping sector for a period of time, but with the return of Onana, all seems to be headed back to the default system. The Keeper who is seriously courted by Internazionale will have to prove his worth against Malawi and Cote D’Ivoire, before the AFCON finals in January.

Cameroon are neck – on with Cote D’Ivoire in group D of the qualifiers, after after four playing days. One point separates Cameroon (9) from Cote D’Ivoire (10) ahead of the fifth and sixth playing days.
