Just In: Injured Bayern Star Set To Miss Indomitable Lions Camp

Reports suggests that
Eric Maxime Choupo-Moting, 33, will not recover in time to take part in the Indomitable Lions rally ahead of the double confrontation against Namibia on March 24 and 28.

Bayern Munich’s first choice for scoring goals at the moment is now sidelined — but the length still remains uncertain.

Bayern gaffer, Julian Nagelsmann announced ahead of his team’s match against FC Augsburg that Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting would be unavailable for the match.

When Nagelsmann made the announcement, he sounded very casual citing that Choupo had problems with his back, which “radiate a little into his leg muscles”.

Unavailable to recover even at club level, the Bayern Munich striker went on to withdraw from the Indomitable Lions’ next camp in the days ahead, as per sportglizt sources.

It is going to be a big miss for coach Rigobert Song who ended the 2022 Qatar World Cup on a high, playing both Choupo-Moting and Vincent Aboubakar up top.

Choupo-Moting scored one of the Indomitable Lions’ 3 goals in the draw against Serbia at the World Cup. After the global football jamboree, the 6-million worth striker has gone on to score 17 goals in all competitions.

Song will look to call on other forwards in the pre-selected list with Aboubakar already ruled out due to suspension after he was shown red against Brazil.

Danny Namaso of FC Porto and George Nkoudou of Besiktas remain possible options coach Rigobert Song could replace Choupo-Moting with.
