Cotonsport of Garoua are headed to Algiers, Algeria to try and overturn a 1-2 deficit in the reversed fixture on June 27, without Thomas Etta Bawak and Dzo Ebandza.

A day after their defeat to J.S Kabylie in Yaounde, Cotonsport for some reason decided to give Bawak and Dzo Ebandza a break. Bawak and Ebandza left to the club’s base in Garoua and continued with their workouts.

Transformed from a right to a left full back, Thomas Etta Bawak has been a mainstay in Cotonsport’s defense. Bawak started playing from the return leg of the knockout stages against Green Eagles, and has not missed out on much since then.

Ebandza Edzo has been playing as back – up role and has managed a goal against NAPSA Stars in that 5 -1 mauling of NAPSA Stars on match day four of the group stages.

It remains to be seen if Cotonsport will miss these two. The only other out-and-out left back option in the team Cotonsport traveled with, is Youssoufa Houzafi. Another option could be; bringing in Hassana Abbo as left back, and fielding in Dahirou Amadou as right back.

Cotonsport will pit Kabylie on Sunday, 8 pm supper time.
