Kemen joins Achille Webo at Basaksehir
Olivier Kemen, 27, has signed a three-and-half year contract with Turkish top-flight football club Istanbul Basaksehir. Previously, Kemen played as a midfielder for Kayserispor.
The midfeilder was unattached after leaving Kayserispor due to unpaid bonuses, leading to the player’s departure.
Kemen’s contract at Istanbul Basaksehir lasts until 2027.
The former Lyon and Newcastle United midfield metronome announced his move at the end of Cameroon’s disappointing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) campaign that ended in the round of 16s.
Kemen spent three years on the books of Kayserispor, during which he asserted himself as a regular player in the first team, scoring four goals in 54 games, and being singled out for multiple individual awards.
He joins compatriot Pierre Achille Webo; former Cameroon international, who is part of the backroom staff at Basaksehir.
Notably, Olivier Kemen could make his debut for the club, starting this weekend, when Iastanbuluspor come visiting in the Turkish Super League fixture.
